Denise Ham, "one of Europe's most sought-after conducting teachers" (European String teachers Magazine) is much in demand as a director of courses and workshops. She was Tutor in Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music from 1986-2008 and is currently Head of Conducting Studies here at the Blackheath Conservatoire. She is also on the staff at the internationally renowned Conductors' Course at Canford Summer School of Music.


Denise has trained and conducted orchestras in the UK and Europe and held principal conductorships with the Worcestershire Symphony Orchestra, the Birmingham Conservatoire Junior School Symphony Orchestra, the Cheltenham Chamber Orchestra and the Aberdeenshire Youth Orchestra.

Guest Conducting has taken her to Germany, Spain, Bermuda and Greece.
